Cancellation Policy
Why a Cancellation Policy?
When I make a reservation I ask for a credit card number to hold your room.
In my mind it is a
Contract between the Two of Us.
The contract is :
I will hold the room and not advertise it and have it ready for you
and
you will pay for it and show up.
The concept is pretty simple to me
Most of my guests reserve their room at least two to three weeks in advance.
Once you reserve your room I begin planning for you.
I do my grocery shopping before your arrival with just you in mind.
I rarely get last minute requests for rooms.
When you reserve your room I block it out on my website as unavailable.
So if another guest wished to have your room on that day it would be unavailable
and
they would go somewhere else and I would loose them as another wonderful guest.
Concept seems simple to me.
I trust you, you trust me.
This is why I have set the 7 Day Cancellation Policy to be fair to everyone.
This is standard practice for all bed and breakfasts.
Amenities and services requested must be cancelled at least 48 hours before arrival to receive refund.
A cancellation code must be received to verify cancellation has been received.
Call between 10AM and 7PM.
When you cancel less than 7 days, you will be charged for your room.
You must receive a cancellation code to show proof of cancellation.
No credits will be applied for early departure..
I will be charging your card 7 days prior to your arrival.
If you want a receipt, please notify me and I will email one to you.
If you wish to mail a check, I will expect the check to arrive here 14 business days before your arrival.
Please make your check out for the exact amount.
There will be no refund for checks made out for over the amount of your stay.
All policies apply to Gift Certificates as well.
A 30% non refundable deposit will be charged for booking three or more rooms for the same date.
Valentine's Days (February 4 through 20) , holidays and college graduation and guest attending weddings at the Yellow Turtle Inn are considered a no cancellation reservation . Your card will be charged for your room and amenities that you have ordered when your reservation is received.
Extended stay rates are available for stays 2 weeks or longer.
Bridal Party Guests and Group Guests are a No Cancellation reservation
Your wedding or group guests will need to make their own reservations and confirm with a credit card. Rooms held for wedding or group guests are considered to be no cancellation reservations with no refund. If your guests are paying for their own rooms please have your guests make their own reservations on line. If you are paying for your guests, please make your reservation online at my site.
Special Occasion Cancellation Policy
As always, New Year's Eve weekend, "Valentines Weeks" , Special Occasion Holidays, Graduation and weddings at the Inn are considered no cancellation reservations with no refund for cancellation.
I consider the week and weekends before the date and the week after the special date
to fall under the no cancellation period.
Payment policy
The Inn accepts credit cards, checks and cash. Receiving your credit card number with the security code by phone or by online reservation is acknowledgement that you agree with my policies.
There is a $50 charge for any returned check. Checks for exact amount must be received 2 weeks prior to your date of arrival.
Weddings must be fully paid for two weeks prior to their arrival. There will be a $50 charge for payment arriving after the stated deadline.
Snow Policy
Should it snow and you are uncomfortable with driving, I will understand your worries. However, the roads are well maintained and the parking lot gets plowed here. So to be fair to both of us, I will give you a gift certificate for another date should you feel you must cancel. It will be subject to availability and is not available Valentine's Week. In order to receive your certificate, you must notify me by Noon of your decision to cancel. You must receive a cancellation code in order to receive your certificate. I will need time to release your room so that others who do not mind the snow and wish to stay at the Inn during one of the most beautiful times of the winter.
Animals
I have a no pets policy.
Receiving Packages
I will not accept any packages delivered to the inn unless the guest is present to receive such packages.
If packages arrive and guest is not present, the package will be immediately turned over to the State Police.
Smoking?
Do you need to even ask? Most bed and breakfasts are non-smoking.
I do allow smoking at the entrance parking lot. That is all.
Smoking in the room will be an automatic fine of $100
Please put out your cigarettes in the sand bucket.
I am the one who has to pick up the butts if you throw them on the ground.
Now, would you really do that to your mother?
When Is Brunch Served?
I put out coffee and muffins in the Dining Room around 9:30 for you to help yourself.
If you are a very early riser, you may start the coffee machine.
To accommodate so many lifestyles, I NOW OFFER BREAKFAST OPTIONS:
(1) Complimentary brunch served in the Dining Room at 10:00AM.
Or
(2) If you are an earlly riser or need to make an early appointment I can put food in your refrigerator for you to help yourself. (ceral,milk,yogurt,fresh fruit,danish,OJ,coffee/tea)-(complimentary)
Or
(3) I can deliver and serve your Catered brunch in your room at 10:30AM with complimentary champagne. charge $35
Hot Water
My water temperature is set pretty hot to wash dishes and laundry - so be aware.
If for some reason there seems to be no hot water, let me know immediately!!!!!!
It takes a few minutes for the water to travel from the basement to the second and third floor.
Candles
Please cover all candles with a glass dome and place them away from lamps or inflammable things.
It may seem obvious but Not everyone has the grasp of the obvious!
Should you bring additional candles, please put them on a dish so the wax does not drip on my surfaces.
Bathrooms
Private bathrooms are in all the rooms. There is a lovely outside bathroom for reception guests.
Going Out at Night?
No problem. I lock up when everyone is back home. I can hear arrivals on my monitor.
If you are going to be out very late, please let me know. I have a combination lock.
I have directions to restaurants in a folder in your room and recommend you make reservations.
I have made an assumption that you want something quaint rather than the usual chain restaurant.
Late Arrival
If you are going to arrive much later than 5 PM,
please let me know so we can make arrangements to let you in.
Forgot something?
If you forgot something like a toothbrush, perhaps I can help.
Just ask.
Last Minute Room Reservations
I offer a last minute special . This special is only available and can only be booked on the day that you will be staying. The booking must be booked before 1PM on my Webbervations site on the day of your arrival.
Please call me to be sure I have received your request.
Damage/Replacement Charges
Damages to rooms because of inappropriate behavior will automatically be charged to your credit card.
If there is Smoking in the room, you will automatically be charged $100.
