avoid misunderstandings

create a lovely, cooperative spirit between everyone.
Your final contract will include only the terms specific to you
plus any additional items you request to care for your needs.

The Wedding Party Agrees to the Following:
Payment Policy
- To reserve your date, a non refundable payment of $200 will be made. This non refundable deposit will be applied to the charges of your wedding. This intitial check acknowledges your acceptance of Yellow Turtle Inn policies. The Inn will block out your chosen date for your wedding so that no other person may hold an event for that day.
- A valid credit card number must be submitted with your signed contract. Any unpaid balance or damage may be charged on this card.
- Upon signing your contract 50% of your estimated cost will be paid by check. All payments are non refundable.
- The final payment is required, in full, 2 weeks preceding your arrival date .
- If finale payment is after the two week deadline a $50 late fee will be charged. At this time all fees will pe paid either by cash or banker's certified check.
- Any charges for additional services not in the original contract will be paid two weeks before wedding date.
- A final guest count for brunch must be submitted two weeks in advance of your wedding.
- A final guest count for the rehearsal party, ceremony and reception must be submitted two weeks prior to the wedding.
- Children are considered guests and should appear in your count.
- Should you wish to stay overnight, the currant room rates will apply per room use and are under our no cancellation policy.
- Room rates are based on double occupancy. Most rooms are set up for only two people.
- Extra persons in any room over the double occupancy will be charged $25 per person.
- Brunch charges for non overnight guests are $15 per person.
- The guests will need to make their own reservations and confirm with a credit card. Rooms held for wedding guests are on our "No Cancellation" policy.
Meetings
- Meetings will be scheduled as needed by the wedding party. A finale meeting will be scheduled two weeks before the wedding to cover all details of your wedding. Final payments will be made at this time.
Dress for Safety
- You will advise your guests that flat shoes are to be worn for their own safety and to preserve the vintage hardwood floors of the Inn.
- Because we are in a country setting, shoes should be worn at all times to avoid stepping on thorny chestnuts and other naturally occuring things. Please bring comfortable shoes to change into. Shoes are required at all times. If guests remove their shoes, they do so at their own risk and will be asked to put their shoes back on..
- You have the Inn for 6 hours. You may arrive 2 hours before your ceremony to get dressed and take photos. You then have 4 hours from the time of your ceremony to the end of your reception. You may request additional time. The charge will be $150 an hour. Your caterer will be allowed 1 hour clean up time following the reception. Once the caterer is through cleaning up, the Inn staff will reset the room for the next event and you are expected to leave the Garden Room. Leaving debris after our clean up will result in an additional cleaning charge of $150
Noise Ordinance
- Volume of speakers will be turned down at the request of the Inn Keeper at any time of day or night.
- DJ's are expected to drape their equipment with white material in keeping with the white decore of the Garden Room.
- The wedding party agrees to inform the DJ's of this agreement.
- Carroll County has a noise curfew.
Caterer
- Caterers must present a copy of current catering license and certificate of insurance at least four weeks prior to the wedding. If alcohol is to be served, your caterer must present a current liquor license. Your caterer will have access to the kitchen after 2PM for warming purposes only. Foods must be prepared in a commercial kitchen and arrive ready to be served. There is no refrigeration space available.
Food Handling
- Anyone providing food is expected to set out the food, maintain the temperature of the food, keep the food display neat in appearance, remove all used dishes, bottles, cups, glassware, flatware, plates and provide a neat, pleasing appearance throughout the event in the Garden Room and Front Porch.
- Caterer will remove all trash generated from catering and bar tending from the grounds of the Yellow Turtle Inn .
- Any trash not removed by the caterer will be removed by the wedding party.
- Should the wedding party choose to leave the clean up to the Yellow Turtle Inn following the reception, we will be happy to provide this service for a $50 charge.
- If you are providing your own food, we require our staff to be present to maintain the serving area. There will be a charge for this service.
Drinking
- Beer and Wine will be the ONLY acceptable drinks other than sodas, iced tea and coffee.
- Anyone consuming quantities that will impair the behavior of that individual will be cut off by the wedding party who is solely responsible. The Inn will not provide nor take any responsibility for any beverage consumption.
- All alchohol and consumption must be confined to the Garden Room and is prohibited from being stored, served or consumed in the main house, yard or parking lot of the Inn or any other conceiveable location at the Yellow Turtle Inn.
- Alchohol may not be served before the ceremony and will be cut off a half hour before the end of the event.
- No minors will be served alchohol.
Children
- All children shall be accompanied and supervised by an adult throughout the Inn and grounds.
- The Yellow Turtle Inn is not responsible for the actions of any children.
- In the interest of safety for the children, running in the house, on the porch or on the grounds is prohibited. Shoes must be worn at all times.
Smoking
- The Yellow Turtle Inn is a Smoke Free Home.
- Smoking will be permitted in the parking lot ONLY.
- Because of fire hazard and cleanliness, cigarette butts MUST be disposed of in sand buckets provided in the parking lot and NOT on the ground or in the Inn.
Candles
- All candles will be covered with a glass dome.
Do's and Don'ts
- Non-biodegradable items such as artificial petals, leaves or shinny metallic objects may NOT be scattered in the Courtyard or Gazebo Garden.
- Only sunflower seeds or grass seed may be thrown following the ceremony
- Chemicals may NOT be sprayed on the house or gardens.
- Use of the kitchen refrigerator is prohibited.
- The Inn Kitchen may be used for warming purposes only.
- The wedding party agrees to bring all decorations fully assembled and ready for placement.
- No nails, tacks or sticky substances will be permitted. Please request assistance ahead of time if any items need hanging.
- We will be happy to install necessary hooks if notified at least 2 weeks prior to your event.
Clean Up
- After the wedding, the Wedding Party agrees to remove all items they have supplied for the wedding following the reception. Please allow an hour for clean up following your reception.
- The Wedding Party will assign one person to gather all presents and put them in a secure area following the ceremony.
- The Yellow Turtle Inn will not be held responsible for any items left on the grounds.
- Items found following an event will be held for only two weeks.
- The wedding party will assign one person in charge of lost and found items left at the wedding.
- All boxes and supplies will be removed from sight before the arrival of guests to present a neat appearance to the arriving guests.
Photographs
- I agree that photographs of our wedding may appear on the Yellow Turtle Inn website.
Pricing Worksheet
- The wedding party will come to an agreement on the pricing based on the pricing worksheet. Payments will be made in three installments installments and all payments must be made no later than two (2) weeks prior to the wedding date. All payments are non-
- refundable. A late charge of $50 will be assessed for payments after the two week due date
Consent and Release

release the Yellow Turtle Inn, Proprietor and staff from all responsibility for the "Wedding Party" and our guest's behavior and will hold harmless the Yellow Turtle Inn, Proprietor and staff for all accidents, injuries or harm to the "Wedding Party" and our guests on or off the property of the Yellow Turtle Inn.
We will assume total responsibility for the "Wedding Party" and our guests for any damages to property or resulting injuries sustained from but not limited to consumption of alcohol.
We further agree to take full responsibility for the “Wedding Party” and our guests for any alcohol related accidents or injuries or any action on, leaving or off the property of the Yellow Turtle Inn.
We agree and will inforce the Maryland Law that no minors will be served any alcoholic beverages in any form.
Please remember, you are in the Angel's and My home.
The Yellow Turtle Inn Agrees that:
- Meetings will be scheduled as needed or requested to discuss your concerns,decoration plans, ceremony plans and reception layout.
- The Yellow Turtle Inn Agrees to provide the grounds with the Gazebo Garden for your ceremony as requested and needed weather permitting.
- and the lovely Garden Reception Room for your reception.
- A dressing area for the bridal party
- A dressing area will be provided for the Groom.
